Lonesome Valley Homesites

With elevations ranging from 3,200 feet at the valley floor to 4,100 feet atop Cow Rock Mountain, Lonesome Valley is comprised of just under 800 acres. Land planning provides for approximately 200 lots, and development is proceeding in phases. Phase I was opened in summer of 2006 and within 2 months all 30 lots were committed. Currently Phases II and III, comprised of 41 lots, are available.

All utilities, including electric, phone and internet, are underground, and there is a community-wide water and wastewater system, removing the need for individual well or septic systems.

Lonesome Valley’s Architectural Review Program is unparalleled in its approach to home design. Primary objectives include creating structures that are subtle, secondary to their natural setting and in proper scale within their natural setting. These designs embrace a philosophy borrowing from the historic Cashiers-Highlands-Toxaway mountain camps and estates while reflecting the regional tradition of southern Appalachia. Lonesome Valley has been a family farm for generations, and so it shall remain for future generations.

Lonesome Valley offers Cottage Lots, Estate Lots and the Camps at Lonesome Ridge.

Cottage Lots

Creekside, Cow Rock, Long Lake and Rhodie Point are comprised of Cottage lots, which are smaller in size and offer ready to build, architect-designed plans for construction. This can be a simple, cost effective and time saving approach to building a home at Lonesome Valley since the cost of plans is limited to a reuse fee and their architectural review requirements are not as complex as a custom home.

Estate Lots Estate Lots

Estate lots range in size from 1 to 8 acres and provide increased flexibility for home design and size.  Home plans may include existing cottage plans, modified cottage plans and  custom designs, subject to approval.

The Camps at Lonesome Ridge

Lonesome Ridge at Lonesome Valley

Rising above the valley floor to 4300 elevation, The Camps of Lonesome Ridge offer a singular opportunity for property ownership on the Highlands-Cashiers plateau.

Including 90 acres and divided into three camps, this park-like refuge offers the rare combination of almost- level topography with magnificent long range views of the Blue Ridge and multiple named peaks in almost every direction. Large old-growth hardwoods, rock outcroppings, views over the sheer granite face of Cow Rock and meandering grass-covered walking paths provide the ideal setting for a creative family compound with opportunities for guest cottages and other outbuildings.

Camp One at 20.78 acres, one subdivision allowed…..$3,000,000

Camp Two at 30.93 acres, one subdivision allowed…..$3,500,000

Camp Three at 38.87 acres, one subdivision allowed...$3,000,000
