Then and Now |
|
E. H. Jennings first acquired land in these Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina in the late 1800’s. His vast holdings of over 30,000 acres stretched from Toxaway to Franklin, and by 1900 he had constructed five majestic mountain inns that welcomed visitors to “The Beautiful Sapphire Country.” Today, the great grandchildren of E. H. Jennings welcome new friends and families to their heirloom canyon of nearly eight hundred acres. Many would agree that this is the most awe-inspiring of all the original family holdings, still affectionately known as Lonesome Valley. more > | |

This is where lasting friendships are established and existing relationships are reconnected, now and for generations to come. Homes and Homesites |
| The challenge for Lonesome Valley was how best to develop this pristine wilderness that had remained untouched for generations. The answer was to develop less and preserve more. Conservation areas and green spaces, comprising over one third of our total acreage, set apart common areas of uncommon beauty for all to enjoy. New roads and walking trails trace historic logging paths through old growth forests. Homes are carefully designed and crafted to blend with their natural surroundings, with the simple grace and authenticity of the original farmstead. Less than two hundred homes and homesites share nearly eight hundred acres within the Valley and its soaring granite faces. more > | |
